Coinsbee review

Coinsbee wins on the one dimension that cannot be faked: availability. Over 5,000 brands across more than 180 countries, paid for with over 200 different cryptocurrencies. If the card you want exists in digital form, this is where it probably is.

The verdict — 4.5 / 5

Coinsbee is the platform you go to when somebody else does not have what you need, and that happens more often than the big-brand comparison tables suggest. Its catalogue depth outside the obvious names is unmatched.

The missing piece is rewards. On a brand both platforms stock, Bitrefill’s Sats Back usually wins on net cost. Coinsbee’s answer is that it stocks the brand at all, which, when true, settles the argument entirely.

The catalogue advantage

Coinsbee surpassed 5,000 gift card brands, which it describes as the largest crypto gift card selection worldwide, spanning more than 180 countries across e-commerce, entertainment, travel and gaming.

Headline brand counts are usually marketing, so it is worth saying what makes this one meaningful. Every platform in this category stocks Amazon, Steam, Apple and Netflix. Those are table stakes and they account for a tiny fraction of any catalogue’s brand count. The differentiator is the long tail: a Spanish supermarket chain, a Polish electronics retailer, a Brazilian food delivery service — and that is where Coinsbee has built something nobody else has.

The practical consequence: if you live outside the US, UK or Germany, this is frequently the only platform where the shops you use appear at all. That is not a marginal advantage. It is the difference between the whole concept working and not working for you.

A better price on a card you cannot buy is not a better price

Comparison content in this category fixates on markups because they are easy to tabulate. For most buyers outside the largest markets, the binding constraint is availability, not price, and on availability there is currently no contest.

200+ coins, and why it matters

Coinsbee accepts over 200 cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, TRX, BCH, NANO, USDT and DAI. Most competitors support somewhere between five and twenty.

If your holdings are in the top handful of assets, this is a feature you will never use. If they are not, it removes a real cost. The alternative on a narrower platform is to swap your asset into Bitcoin or a stablecoin first, paying a trading spread and a network fee before you have bought anything at all. On a $60 gift card, that preliminary step can cost more than the card’s markup.

There is a caveat worth stating. Wide coin support does not mean every coin is equally sensible to pay with. Some networks are expensive, some are slow, and some price quotes expire before a slow chain confirms. Choosing a cheap, fast network remains the right move even when two hundred options are available. TRX-based and Litecoin settlement tend to be the practical sweet spot here.

Pricing, honestly

Coinsbee prices per product, and the spread varies considerably. On mainstream brands it is competitive but rarely the outright cheapest. On the long-tail brands where it has no competition, pricing reflects that lack of competition, which is unsurprising but worth going in expecting.

There is no rewards programme comparable to Bitrefill’s. That is the single clearest gap, and on a brand both platforms carry it usually decides the matter: a 3% markup with 2% back beats a 2.5% markup with nothing.

The answer, as always, is the two-minute test rather than any table. Price the exact product on both platforms, divide the crypto amount by spot, compare to face value, then subtract rewards. Our comparison page sets out the method.

Who should use it

Three groups get clear value from Coinsbee, and it is worth being precise about them rather than recommending it universally.

People outside the major markets. If your country’s shops are not on the big platforms, this is where they will be, and the price difference is beside the point.

Holders of less common assets. Two hundred supported coins means you spend what you hold instead of paying to convert it first.

Anyone buying a specific unusual brand. A niche retailer, a regional restaurant group, a local mobile operator. This is the catalogue that has them.

If you are a US or UK buyer purchasing Amazon or Steam with Bitcoin, Bitrefill is probably the better call on net cost. Both being true at once is the honest position, and it is why our comparison page does not crown a single winner.

The purchase that convinced us

We went looking for a gift card for a mid-sized European grocery chain — the kind of everyday brand that ought to be trivial to buy and is not. Three platforms did not stock it in any form. Coinsbee had it, in the right country, at a markup of roughly 4%.

Four percent is not a great price. It is an infinitely better price than not existing, and that is the whole argument for this platform in one purchase.

Coinsbee questions

How many brands does Coinsbee actually have?

Coinsbee passed 5,000 supported gift card brands, which makes it the largest catalogue of crypto-purchasable gift cards we are aware of. It operates across more than 180 countries.

The number matters less than its composition. Anyone can stock Amazon and Steam. Coinsbee's advantage is the long tail — national supermarket chains, regional electronics retailers, local restaurant groups — which is exactly what nobody else bothers with.

Which cryptocurrencies does Coinsbee accept?

Over 200 cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, TRX, BCH, NANO, USDT and DAI. That is far beyond what most competitors support.

This matters if your holdings are not in the top few assets. Elsewhere you would have to swap into something mainstream first, paying a conversion spread before you even start shopping.

Do I need an account or KYC to buy from Coinsbee?

Coinsbee allows purchases without creating an account or completing identity verification for ordinary consumer amounts — you pay from your own wallet and receive the code by e-mail.

As with every platform, thresholds exist and rise with order value. Treat account-free checkout as a convenience for normal purchases, not as an unlimited allowance.

Is Coinsbee more expensive than Bitrefill?

Sometimes, sometimes not — it depends entirely on the brand and region. Markups are set per product, so there is no consistent winner. What is consistent is that Coinsbee has no rewards programme comparable to Sats Back, so on brands where both stock the card, Bitrefill often wins on net cost.

Where Coinsbee wins is availability. A slightly worse price on a card you can actually buy beats a better price on one that is not stocked.

Can I buy Vanilla and prepaid cards on Coinsbee?

Coinsbee stocks payment-card products including Vanilla Gift across several regions. These are open-loop prepaid cards that spend anywhere the network is accepted, rather than brand-specific credit.

Read our prepaid card page before buying one — the issuer fee stack is significant and is disclosed by the issuer rather than by the marketplace.
